Acts Of The Little Horn

In the study of ‘the little horn’, we learnt that it was the Roman Catholic Church and from ‘the ram and the he-goat’ study, we learnt that the little horn must arrive after the kingdom of Greece. We will now go in-depth on the prophecies of the Catholic Church. For the vision of the little horn, the angel Gabriel explains the symbols from verses 23-26.

Prophecy 1: The Greek backing of the little horn

Daniel 8:8-9 “Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn…”  The confusion people fall into here is that this little horn must arise during the Greek empire. However, Gabriel explains this must happen after these empires. Daniel 8:23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full a king of fierce countenance [little horn], and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up”. Gabriel also explains that it is when the ‘transgressors are come to the full’. The word “full” here means “end/complete” in the strong’s concordance. Hence when transgression has come to an end, that is when this little horn must arise.

What does the Bible mean by transgressors? Psalm 37:38 “But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off”. Transgressors represent those who don’t believe in God. Psalm 51:13 “Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee”. Transgressors symbolically represent the unconverted because traditional paganism didn’t decrease in the time of Antiochus but ended hundreds of years later.

“On November 8, 392, he [Theodosius] made his edicts of 391 more stringent by completely prohibiting the worship of the pagan gods”. - Encyclopedia Britannica

After traditional paganism was crushed, the Catholic Church grew stronger. Whilst Daniel chapter 7 reveals the headquarters of the pope in the west, Daniel 8 shows us which side of the empire the Catholic Church gained power from. It is from the Greek portion of the Empire that the Catholic Church had the ability to gain temporal strength. Out of the provinces of the Macedonian empire which were once under the control of Seleucid Greece arose Byzantine Rome. Byzantine [Greek/Eastern] Rome helped to establish the papacy in their headquarters in the west. This was demonstrated by the Letter of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I.

“Victorious, Pious, Happy, Renowned, Triumphant, always Augustus, to John, Patriarch, and most Holy Archbishop of the fair City of Rome: With honor to the Apostolic See, and to Your Holiness, which is, and always has been remembered in Our prayers, both now and formerly, and honoring your happiness, as is proper in the case of one who is considered as a father, We hasten to bring to the knowledge of Your Holiness everything relating to the condition of the Church, as We have always had the greatest desire to preserve the unity of your Apostolic See, and the condition of the Holy Churches of God, as they exist at the present time, that they may remain without disturbance or opposition”.  - Emperor Justinian to Pope John II, 533 AD

Prophecy 2: The southern influence of the Catholic Church

Daniel 8:9 “And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south…” The word “waxed” means to grow strong. We see this in Genesis 26:13 when it says “And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great”.

Catholicism managed to penetrate into North Africa and had major contentions with the Vandals. With the help of Justinian, Arianism was banned after the Synod of Carthage in 534 AD.

The Vandal occupation of Africa, which lasted over a century (429-534), was a period of severe trial to the Catholics of that country. The disorganization of the African Church was arrested by the re-conquest under Justinian of this portion of the empire, but the heresies which, during the sixth and seventh centuries, proved so fruitful in dissensions affected this portion of Christendom like the rest. The final catastrophe came with the fall of Carthage into the hands of the Muslims in 698. From this time the once flourishing church of Africa is rarely heard of. Apostasy became the order of the day, and in 1053 only five bishops remained in the former pro-consulate”. - Catholic Encyclopedia 1913

The Pope splits lands between Spain and Portugal including the southern territories of the Americas: “And all lands, both islands and mainlands, found and discovered already, or to be found and discovered hereafter, by the said King of Portugal and by his vessels on this side of the said line and bound determined as above, toward the east, in either north or south latitude, on the eastern side of the said bound provided the said bound is not crossed, shall belong to, and remain in the possession of, and pertain forever to, the said King of Portugal and his successors”. - Treaty of Tordesillas

Catholicism has made strides deeper into Africa in more recent times. (Jesus has found home here in Africa)

Prophecy 3: The eastern influence of the Catholic Church

Daniel 8:9 “And out of one of them came forth a little horn [the papacy], which waxed exceeding great, …and toward the east…”

Kingdoms of Eastern Europe began to turn Catholic one after another.

“Mieszko I, (born c. 930—died May 25, 992), Piast prince or duke of Poland (from c. 963), who brought Poland into Christendom [Catholicism] and expanded the state to the Baltic Sea”. - Encyclopedia Britannica

“On Christmas Day, 1000 CE, Stephen was anointed king of Hungary. According to tradition, he received from Pope Sylvester II a crown that is now held as a national treasure in Hungary (see Saint Stephen’s Crown). His coronation signified Hungary’s entry into the family of European Christian nations”. - Britannica

Whilst Pope Innocent intended to regain Jerusalem, the call of the Fourth Crusade by the pope led to the capture of Constantinople. “It was under [pope] Innocent’s inspiration that the Fourth Crusade was launched, and it was by the diversion of that Crusade from its purpose and objective that the conquest and colonization of the Byzantine Empire by the West was realized”. - Britannica

The Catholic Church has gone further east with members as far as China.

Prophecy 4: The Jerusalem push of the Catholic Church

Daniel 8:9 “And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, …, and toward the pleasant land”. What is the pleasant land? Psalm 106:24 “Yea, they [Israel] despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word”.

The Popes always tried to push towards the pleasant land (Jerusalem), as they saw it as holy. “Following Pope Urban’s speech, preparations began in both East and West. Emperor Alexius, who had doubtless anticipated the mustering of some sort of auxiliary force, apparently soon realized that he would have to provide for and police a much larger influx of warriors”. - The First Crusade (Britannica)

The Crusader states were established in the middle east from 1098 till 1291. “The Crusader States (aka the Latin East or Outremer) were created after the First Crusade (1095-1102 CE) in order to keep hold of the territorial gains made by Christian armies in the Middle East. The four small states were the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the County of Edessa, the County of Tripoli, and the Principality of Antioch”. - worldhistory.org

Prophecy 5: The Catholic Church will kill Christians and destroy them

Daniel 8:10 “And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them”. In this verse, the stars of heaven represent God’s people symbolically. This can be proved from Daniel 12:3 which says “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever”. Hence papal Rome (Vatican) was to cast down and trample upon Christians. From Daniel 7, we learnt that this was to happen for 1260 years.

Gabriel gives this interpretation directly in Daniel 8:24 “…he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.”

“We are asking pardon ... for the use of violence committed in the service of truth” - Pope John Paul II

Please see the Rome’s words page for more evidence of the atrocities.

Prophecy 6: The Popes will speak blasphemies

Daniel 8:11 “Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host [Jesus]…” To magnify yourself against Jesus is defined as blasphemy as you make an equality between the Lord and yourself.

Joshua 5:14 “And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I [Jesus] now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?” (Captain translates from the same Hebrew word used in Daniel 8).

"We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God....dissolves, not by human but rather by divine authority....I am in all and above all, so that God Himself and I, the vicar of God, hath both one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do...Wherefore, no marvel, if it be in my power to dispense with all things, yea with the precepts of Christ." Decretales Domini Gregori ix Translatione Episcoporum, (on the Transference of Bishops), title 7, chapter 3; Corpus Juris Canonice (2nd Leipzig ed., 1881), col. 99; (Paris, 1612), tom. 2, Decretales, col. 205 (while Innocent III was Pope).

Matthew 23:9 “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven”.

Definition of Holy Father: POPE sense 1 - Webster’s Dictionary

“Returning to your question, I would like to recall the words of Christ together with my first words in St. Peter’s Square: “Be not afraid.” Have no fear when people call me the “Vicar of Christ,” when they say to me “Holy Father,” or “Your Holiness,” or use titles similar to these, which seem even inimical to the Gospel. Christ himself declared: “Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Messiah” (Mt 23:9-10). These expressions, nevertheless, have evolved out of a long tradition, becoming part of common usage. One must not be afraid of these words either”. - Crossing the Threshold of Hope by Pope John Paul II

In reply to people’s concerns with him being called “Holy Father”, John Paul II replies (paraphrasing) “it has become a tradition so don’t worry about it”. Mark 7:13 “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition…”

-Prophecy 7 and 8: The Catholic Church will exalt paganism and will receive an army to fight paganism-

Daniel 8:11 “…and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away [exalted] … And an host [army] was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of [because of] transgression…”

The word sacrifice was added by the translators due to seeing the word sanctuary. A host represents an army. Exodus 15:4 “Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea”. “By reason of” means “because of”. The prophecy isn’t trying to tell us the Catholic Church received an army against daily sacrifices. The word “daily” means “continual”. The Hebrew word which translates to “taken away” actually means “exalted” or “lifted up”. It not the typical word  used in the Hebrew of taking something, it’s the word rûm. See the word used in other verses here. Hence the verse should be understood as:

Daniel 8:11 “…and by him the daily [continual] was taken away [exalted/lifted up] … And an host [army] was given him against the daily [continual] by reason of [because of] transgression [sin]…”

We therefore learn that the papacy will exalt the continual transgression (paganism), however will receive an army against paganism.

Gabriel explains this by noting that the rise of the papacy is when transgressors (pagans) have come to a full (end). Daniel 8:23 “…when the transgressors are come to the full.” We also get the explanation of the Pope’s power not being of his own. Daniel 8:24 “And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise…” The popes' way of working has always been political ties. They will get kings and emperors to do the dirty work for them.

Clovis was the king of the Franks from 481-511 “Pagans, Arians, and Catholics shared the Gaul of Clovis and the Franks. Clovis personally illustrates the juxtaposition of these three belief systems. He was born into paganism, two of his sisters were Arians (one married the Arian Ostrogothic king Theodoric the Great), and his wife, Clotilda, like her sister, was Catholic but from a Burgundian royal family that included Arians. His conversion to Catholicism was that of one man and not of his kingdom, but it can be seen as pivotal in Frankish history”. - Britannica

It was with the help of the king of Franks that the Pope was able to root out paganism. “The German neighbours of [King] Clovis had either preserved their ancient faith or adopted the Arian heresy. His [Clovis’s] conversion therefore was advantageous or disadvantageous to him, as regarded them, according to the objects he had in view”. - The Franks, page 81

Even in those countries in which Heathenism or Arian Christianity prevailed, there was generally a zealous and united community of Catholic Christians (including all the Romance inhabitants), who, being outnumbered and sometimes persecuted, were inclined to look for aid abroad. Clovis became by his conversion the object of hope and attachment to such a party in almost every country on the continent of Europe. He had the powerful support of the whole body of the Catholic clergy, in whose hearts the interests of their Church far outweighed all other considerations”. -The Franks, page 81

Arianism and paganism were a threat to Catholicism, hence Rome sought the help of Nicene kings to uproot it. “It is evident, from the language of Gregory of Tours, that this conflict between the Franks and Visigoths was regarded by the orthodox [Catholic] party of his own and preceding ages as a religious war, on which, humanly speaking, the prevalence of the Catholic or the Arian creed in Western Europe depended.” - The Franks, page 85

“It is, therefore, by a particular decree of Divine Providence that, at the fall of the Roman Empire and its partition into separate kingdoms, the Roman Pontiff, whom Christ made the head and center of his entire Church, acquired civil power”. − Pope Pius IX, Apostolic Letter Cum Catholica Ecclesia, March 26, 1860.

Did the papacy exalt paganism?

"The use of temples, and these dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasions with branches of trees; incense, lamps, and candles; votive offerings on recovery from illness; holy water; asylums; holydays and seasons, use of calendars, processions, blessings on the fields; sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure, the ring in marriage, turning to the East, images at a later date, perhaps the ecclesiastical chant, and the Kyrie Eleison [Note 17], are all of pagan origin, and sanctified by their adoption into the Church." -An Essay on The Development of the Christian Doctrine John Henry "Cardinal Newman" p.359

Prophecy 9 & 10 - The Catholic Church will mar the image of God and cast down the truth

Daniel 8:11-12 “…and by him… and the place of the sanctuary was cast down12 it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered”.

The sanctuary represents the worshipping place of God’s people. Psalm 74:3 “Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary”.  Ezekiel 5:11 “Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity”.

The moral perception of Christianity in the world has fallen due to the many sins of the Roman Catholic Church. This is such a widespread fact that posting all the sources would make this page too lengthy, therefore we’ll post an example.

In the past: “On 6 November a synod composed of fifty Italian and German bishops was convened in St. Peter's; [Pope] John was accused of sacrilege, simony, perjury, murder,

adultery, and incest, and was summoned in writing to defend himself. Refusing to recognize the synod, John pronounced sentence of excommunication (ferendæ sententia) against all participators in the assembly, should they elect in his stead another pope”.  - new advent

Today: “Pope John Paul II has sent an apology by e-mail for a string of injustices, including sexual abuse, committed by Roman Catholic clergy in the Pacific nations. The 81-year-old pontiff transmitted the message, his first "virtual" apology, in a recent string of statements of contrition, from a laptop in the Vatican's frescoed Clementine Hall on Wednesday”. - Pope sends first e-mail apology, BBC News

Casting down of the truth

Something to note, where the scripture says “it [the RCC] practised”, the word “practised” means “made”. Hence the RCC will not only cast the true church’s doctrines to the ground but make its own doctrine and prosper.

The second commandment is “thou shalt not make any graven image to bow down to it”. However, the Catholic Church has removed that and replaced it with the third commandment (proof). The reason the Catholic Church cast the truth down to the ground so openly is that they admit that they don’t base their teaching on the Bible alone.

"The belief in the Bible as the sole source of faith is unhistorical, illogical, fatal to the virtue of faith, and destructive of unity." -The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume XIII, "Protestantism", Section III A - Sola Scriptura ("Bible Alone"), Nihil Obstat, February 1, 1912 by Remy Lafort, D.D., Censor, Imprimatur. +John Cardinal Farley, Archbishop of New York.

They also make up doctrines. It’s widely taught among Catholics that Mary never sinned and that Jesus had no siblings. The Catholics have turned Mary into another god.

“The foundation of all our confidence is found in the Blessed Virgin Mary. God has committed to her the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is His will: that we obtain everything through Mary”. - Catholic Tradition

Through the power of the papacy to speak truth today is considered a heresy, and to speak what was heresy in the time of Christ will be considered truth. Although there are thousands of denominations, a lot of them still hold to major Catholic Dogma here and there.

Prophecy 11 - The Catholic Church will understand the occult

Daniel 8:23  “…a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up”.

Psalm 78:2 “I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old”.

When we look up the Hebrew word for “dark sentences” it translates to “riddles, parables, or dark speeches”. Similar to how the Lord talks to his prophets in dark speeches, so does Satan speak to the Vatican in dark speeches/sentences. These are pagan acts that Satan gets the Vatican to do. Satan will move the Vatican to show allegiance to him openly through occult symbols. This can be shown in one video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcR85Ojhx6M

Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

Prophecy 12: The catholic church will use lies to advance

Daniel 8:25 “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand…”. The craft of the Catholic Church are well documented:

Prophecy 13: Popes will exalt themselves

Daniel 8:25 “…and he shall magnify himself in his heart

“The following precept was communicated to its founder, that is to say, the first of the Apostles, by the mouth of the Lord, namely: "Feed my lambs." This See is indeed the head of all churches, as the rules of the Fathers and the decrees of Emperors assert, and the words of your most reverend piety testify. It is therefore claimed that what the Scriptures state, namely, "By Me Kings reign, and the Powers dispense justice;" will be accomplished in you”.  - Pope John to Emperor Justinian

“…Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff”. - Bull Unam Sanctum, Pope Boniface VIII, 1302

Prophecy 14: The Catholic Church will use peace to expand their agenda

Daniel 8:25 “…and by peace shall destroy many…”.  Contrary to their past tactics, instead of using brute force, the Catholic Church seeks to use peace to extend her political influence. So far it has been successful as she has diplomatic ties to nearly every nation on earth.

Obama thanks Pope Francis for help in US-Cuba deal

The church was central to this deal. Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, probably the most powerful figure in the church outside of the pope himself, personally attended the deal’s signing ceremony prior to the referendum. Not only that, he gave a mass at the Church of St. Peter Claver—a Catholic church named after a Jesuit saint—for those attending the signing ceremony”. - The Trumpet

Why does the Vatican want to be seen as a peacemaker? Well in Revelation 17 we learn how they will soon rule a one-world government. In order to be accepted as moral arbiters of the world, they need to have a track record of making peace.

“That is why the Church is happy to be associated with the activity of this distinguished Organization, charged with the responsibility of promoting peace and good will throughout the earth”. - Address of Pope Benedict XVI to the UN, 2008

Why is Pope Francis a moral authority?

Prophecy 15 (Future) - Soon Christ will come to end the Vatican

Daniel 8:25 “…he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.”

The Vatican won’t rise to heaven to challenge Jesus, but they attack him by attacking His people. Matthew 25:40 “…Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. The Vatican will meet its end at the second coming of Christ.

Prophecy 16 (fulfilled briefly explained): The 2300 days

There’s one prophecy that we will introduce but explain further in the next section. In the last portion of the vision, Daniel sees this. Daniel 8:13-14 “Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily [paganism] sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation [papacy], to give both the sanctuary [True Christianity] and the host [Christians] to be trodden under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days [2300 years]; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed [judgment begins]”. We must note that sanctuary whilst it was used as a symbol for Christian worship, “the cleansing of the sanctuary” is a symbol within itself as it represents the ceremony that occurred in Israel in Leviticus 16. Leviticus 16:30 “For on that day [day of atonement] shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord”.

Daniel 8:26 “And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days”. The Angel tells Daniel this vision is for many days, meaning it won’t come to pass for a while. However, before Daniel could get the explanation of when the time begins for this vision, he faints.

Daniel 8:27 “And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it”. Daniel doesn’t get the starting date for this portion of the vision. He actually gets that information in chapter 9. Hence one should look at Daniel chapter 9 (after the prayer) as an extended explanation of the vision.
