Callaloo Stew

Callaloo Stew 🫑🌱

Ingredients:

  • 1 Can of Callaloo (Any brand however Dunn’s River is recommended)
  • 1/2 Red sweet pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 Onion, chopped
  • 2 gloves of garlic, chopped 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1tsp soy sauce 
  • 2 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions:

1. Firstly, open the can of callaloo and pour the callaloo into a medium sized sieve. Give the callaloo a slight rinse and set aside to drain for 2-5 minutes. 

2. Secondly, add the chopped onions and garlic to a frying pan and fry until golden brown.

3. Next, add the callaloo to the frying pan along with salt, soy sauce, garlic granules and thyme. Keep hob on a medium heat and fry 5 minutes.

4. Add the sweet peppers and a little bit of water.

5. Cover pan and fry for 10-15 minutes on a low to medium heat. 

6. During this time add more seasoning to taste if needed.

7. Enjoy.
