Where Is The Godhead
Prerequisite study: Are we Alone?
Do the Godhead dwell in a “spiritual realm”? Where are they located? This topic is quite an amazing topic because it’s nice to know where your Creator dwells. By now you should understand we aren’t the only created beings and there’s more to creation. Our Lord didn’t create all those stars and planets for nothing. We will also pinpoint exactly where our Heavenly Father is located by the end of this study.
Dispelling a false notion
1 Kings 8:27 “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?” Looking at this verse, some conclude that God can’t exist in this “realm” or that he dwells in a “spirit realm”. What is missed here is that this is a prayer from Solomon. This was the prayer he made as he prepared to build a house for the Lord. The word “contain” here also means to “restrain” or “hold in”. Solomon is describing how the power of God cannot be limited to an earthly house or even the new Jerusalem. Not that he can’t physically go there if he pleased. What many aren’t fully aware of is that God can dwell on earth. God will dwell on the newly created earth in the future and live with us.
Revelation 21:1,3 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
This means The Father can indeed dwell with man. Sometimes we can come up with ideas on what God can and can’t do based on our preconceived notions. We conclude things like “God can’t dwell in the universe He created. Isn’t that the same as a human dwelling in a computer?” No! He’s God, He can do what He likes.
What does “Heaven” mean?
In the Bible, when the word “heaven” is used it can refer to three things:
The Sky
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Space (heavens)
1 Chronicles 27:23 “But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the Lord had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.”
Deuteronomy 10:14 “Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord's thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.”
The new Jerusalem (the third heaven)
2 Corinthians 12:2,4 “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”
What did Jesus create?
Colossians 1:16 “For by him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.”
This means Jesus created the universe. Everything you see, He did the handiwork. He only used his mouth to create them.
Psalm 33:6 “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.”
Where does God sit?
Psalm 2:4 “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”
From Psalm we can see that God literally sits in the heavens!
Psalm 103:19 “The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.”
This leads us to an interesting conclusion. If the throne of God is in the heavens and his kingdom is all the heavens, doesn’t that make the universe “The kingdom of heaven”?
Matthew 22:2 “The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king [The Father], which made a marriage for his son [Jesus].”
When Jesus kept talking about the kingdom of heaven, he was referring to the universe we can see. However, we are shut up from the kingdom of heaven. We don’t have the privilege to converse with our unfallen brethren on other worlds. If found faithful we will in the future, when this plan of salvation is wrapped up.

This sphere of piping hot plasma is low density, so Voyager 2 can pass right through it. However, as far as cosmic radiation is concerned, the wall of interstellar plasma is like a physical barrier, blocking 70% of the radiation from getting into our solar system.
The [very local interstellar medium, a.k.a. the wall of hot plasma] is variable near the [heliopause] and hotter than expected. Scripture upon scripture clearly shows us God is in the heavens (space)
Psalm 115:3 “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.”
Psalm 115:16 “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. (He gave us planet earth)”
Psalm 123:1 “Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.”
Did God create earth or space with the hopes of it being empty?
I must ask, what artist paints one painting? What musician composes one song? If one could make a fully functioning artificial intelligence, would they stop at one? It’s obvious, no creative person stops at one creation! They enjoy creating. Our Lord loves to create!
Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” I love this verse because it clearly shows that Jesus just loves to create.
Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.” If the Lord created earth to be inhabited, did he create the other worlds to be empty? Hebrews 11:3 “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
We get warned about the devil “coming down” to the earth because he has a short time. But before getting to that, where do birds’ dwell? (Bear with me). Birds don’t dwell in the sky; they dwell in nests made in trees (usually). Psalm 104:16-17 “The trees of the Lord are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; 17 Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.”
If birds dwell in nests, then who dwells in the heavens? Revelation 12:12 “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
We on planet earth are told “woe”, but the devil has stopped trying to tempt and annoy those on other worlds because his time is short. He’s focused all his efforts on earth for the past six thousand years where he was cast to.
Where did Jesus ascend to?
If heaven was in another dimension or some sort of spiritual realm, why did Jesus have to “ascend”?
Acts 1:9-11 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven”.
Did Jesus do this just for show? No. He went from earth into heaven (space). When he returns, he will come down from space.
Where does God look at us from?
Psalm 33:13-14 “The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.” This is where Jesus went to stand before God for us as a high priest.
Hebrews 4:14 “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.” The throne of God is in the heavens.
Hebrews 8:1 “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens.”
Where will the new Jerusalem come from?
Revelation 21:2 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” John saw the New Jerusalem, (where God is now), Come down from the sky, because currently it’s located in space. New Jerusalem is the city of our God.
Where in space is the new Jerusalem located?
Psalm 48:1-2 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, ON THE SIDES OF THE NORTH, the city of the great King.”
For those that have a certain level of knowledge on space you may already see the gem here. From earth we see different stars depending on our location. If someone dwells in the southern hemisphere, they won’t see Polaris (the Northern Star).

If you are located in the northern hemisphere, this is a list of possible constellations you can see: Cassiopeia, Perseus, Ursa Minor etc:

There are some constellations which are on the “sides of the north”: Orion, Corona Borealis etc. If you’re in the south you will see Leo, Virgo, Libra etc. Hence God dwells in the sides of the North. Can we get another verse to pin this down further? Continue reading
Where does Satan want to ascend to?
We know Satan used to be Lucifer but fell from the Holy City. He used to stand next to God himself as a covering cherub. Unfortunately, he wanted to be like God and sit in the seat of God. The reasoning goes: if he used to live there, he knows where it is.
He says: Isaiah 14:12-13 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, IN THE SIDES OF THE NORTH.”
Satan wants to sit where God sits, IN THE SIDES OF THE NORTH. Which constellation is he talking about? Gemini, Bootes, Corona Borealis or Orion? In one of these constellations is found the Holy City.
These constellation names are not unknown by our God. Amos 5:8 “Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name:” The seven stars is the constellation of Pleiades.
Job 9:9 “Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.”
Job 38:31-32 “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?”
Whilst he uses the names, we have given to them, he actually has his own names for the stars which we will find out when we get home.
Psalm 147:4 “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.”
There is one constellation that is named in all the verses. That is Orion. And it’s also in the sides of the north! Now using the Bible alone, the best conclusion one can make is that the Holy City is in a northern constellation in space. However, God did send an end time prophet in the 19th century, and they had a vision of where the Holy City will descend from.
They said: “The atmosphere parted and rolled back, then we could look up through the open space in ORION, from whence came the voice of God. The Holy City WILL come down through that open space.” – The Present Truth, 1849, August, page 24. Par 3.

That open space is where the Orion nebula is located at. Observations have shown there’s a dark spot which obscures vision of possible stars behind it and the nebula itself.
“Near the center of new APEX image is a dark spot that stands out against the more colorful background, a feature that surprised some researchers studying the photo. ‘Normally, a dark patch such as this would indicate a dense cloud of cosmic dust, obscuring the stars and nebula behind it,’ officials with the European Southern Observatory, which oversees the APEX said in a statement. ‘However, in this image we can see that the patch remains strikingly dark, even when the APEX observations are included.’” – Yahoo news

We praise our God that He’s so kind as to show us where He is physically located, where He looks down on us from. We will shout Hallelujah and sing a new song when He returns.
Matthew 24:30 “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Maranatha!
